Our outpost is located in downtown Hot Springs NC which is a beautiful small mountain town nestled in the Western NC mountains only 40 minutes from downtown Asheville NC. Mountain cabins, bed and breakfast, camping, dining, shopping, and the Appalachian Trail are all just outside our door. There are many activities in the area including whitewater river rafting, lazy river water float trips, hiking, horse back riding, biking, soaking in the hot springs, relaxing with a massage, beautiful scenic drives, or just spending time with your family and friends. No. You do not have to have experience for ANY of our trips (whitewater, float trips or tubing).
What is the youngest age child you will allow on the river?
For guided whitewater rafting trips (9 mile or 5 mile), the youngest age allowable is 8. For unguided and private float trips and tubing, the youngest age allowable is 4.
Will I have a guide in my raft?
Yes. All our whitewater rafting trips have a well-trained guide in every raft. Float trips have guides upon special request.
Do I need a reservation?
Reservations are highly recommended, but not necessary. In most cases we can take walk in customers; however, it is best to call our toll free number first. To Make a reservation: You can call our 24 hour toll free reservation line at 1-800-303-RAFT (7238) or submit an online reservation request form on this website.
Do I need to pay for my river trip when I make a reservation?
No. We will ask for a credit card number to hold your reservation and full payment will be due on the day of your trip.
Can I cancel without being charged a fee?
Yes. You have up until one week (7 days) prior to your trip to cancel without any penalty. Full cancellation policy will be explained at the time of reservation
What if it rains?
We go rafting rain or shine. We have foul weather gear at no additional cost in case of inclement weather. In case of lightning, our professional staff has procedures to keep guests as safe as possible. Normally this is not a problem in the Western NC mountains.
